10TH CONFERENCE OF EUROPEAN REGIONS AND CITIES (KERS)
The Institute of the Regions of Europe (IRE) will hold the 10th Conference of European Regions and Cities in Vienna. The future development of regions is the focus of this year’s event: “Europe 2050: Overcrowded Metropolises – Empty Provinces?”
The 10th Conference of European Regions and Cities will take place in Vienna from 28 to 30 September, in cooperation with the City of Vienna and under the patronage of Vienna Mayor Michael Häupl.
The expert forum on 28 September will address the issue of how regions can promote health, spa and wellness tourism when planning for the future. The goal is to inspire policymakers using best-practice examples from the whole of Europe.
Podium discussions on the following topics are on the agenda for 29 September:
- Green City – Future Mobility
- Decentralised Work and Smart Home
- SMEs – The Chance for Poor Regions?
Best-practice examples involving regional and local cooperation in the energy sector will be presented on 30 September. Experts from business and academia will analyse the current state of the shifting energy industry and the challenges of securing supply to regions and cities.
Attendance is free for representatives of cities and regions as well as for students. The fee for companies is EUR 350. The Institute of the Regions of Europe (IRE) expects around 250 participants.
