Dr Lorenz Granrath did his doctorate about technological collaborations in Japan while spending one year at Tokyo University in 1992/93. After working in industry and R&D institutes, he built up the Fraunhofer Representative Office Japan from 2001 on. In 2014 he moved to AIST to initiate R&D projects with foreign companies and institutes. Besides his work for AIST, Dr. Granrath represents several small high tech companies in Japan.
