Business Luncheon with 2014 Honda Prize Winner Prof. Helmut Clemens
As you might have gathered from the news in Japan and/or Austria already, the prestigious Honda Prize is being awarded to Prof. Helmut Clemens, Montan University in Leoben, Austria. The Honda prize is for scientists and researchers in technology what the Field Medal is for mathematicians and the Nobel Prize for chemists – the world renowned and crowning prize of their achievements.
Prof. Clemens will be in Japan to receive the prize and the ABC is proud to announce a special speaker luncheon with Prof. Clemens. He is also a former member of Plansee, the company for which ABC president Peter Aldrian leads the Japan office.
He will speak not only about his own research topic “structural intermetallic materials” but also about his experiences with the Honda Prize and currently exciting topics in material sciences. The alloys developed by Prof. Clemens are e.g. essential in next generation eco-friendly combustion engines. Despite the scientific topics, Prof. Clemens promised to present in layman’s terms.
